Sattar Khatabi

Born in 1988, he holds a Bachelor’s in Guidance and Consultation from Allameh Tabataba’I University.

He started learning the tombak since 1998, first from Mr. Amer Eskandari and then after a year continued learning from Mr. Hamid Ghanbari (in Bahman Rajabi’s school) and also started learning the daf in Bijan Kamkar’s school. He set out to do research and to expand his knowledge in order to know about other styles of playing and schools and he engaged in playing and getting to know the Eastern and Latin percussive musical instruments. He also started learning the kamancheh from Shervin Mohajer from 2007 to 2011.

He has been cooperating with various music bands and been participating in concerts since 2004, including Paliz ensemble, Sepandar and Nioosh fusion band.

Other activities Khatabi has been engaged in include playing in albums, such as “Ayyaran” composed by Master Ahmad Pejman, “Dar Dam-e Rhythm” with some works of Hamid Ghanbari, “Dah-e Tir” composed by Golnoosh Salehi, “Saalnameh” composed by Mohammadreza Fayaz, Nioosh by Nioosh band, in addition playing the verse rhythms in “descriptive- analytic approach towards rhyme and meter of Persian poetry” published along with a CD. He has also cooperated in two forthcoming albums with Paliz ensemble and some video clips given out.
